A DUA THAT MELTS THE HEART… EVEN FOR THOSE WHO OPPOSE YOU
Look at the heart of Imām Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal رحمه الله…
Despite being imprisoned, tortured, and opposed by people of falsehood — he still made this duʿāʾ in sajdah:
❝O Allāh, whoever from this Ummah was not upon the truth while he presumed he was upon the truth — then return him to the truth, so that he is from the people of the truth.❞
Tārīkh Ibn Kathīr 11/166
What kind of purity does it take…
To weep for your opponent in your deepest sujūd?
Today, when we see deviation, we argue. We insult. We mock.
But the Salaf? They begged Allāh to guide the misguided — even those who fought them.
Because their hearts weren’t seeking to win arguments — they were yearning for souls to be saved.
O Allāh… guide those who oppose the truth, thinking they’re upon it.
Return them to the truth. Make them from its people.
Make their misguidance a path to humility and salvation.
Let us never become arrogant over the truth, nor harsh with those who lack it.
