Ahlus Sunnah vs Ahlul Ghuluww: Know the Middle Path
In every age, truth stands between two extremes.
On one side: The Neglectful — who water down the religion, abandon the Sunnah, and ally with every deviant group in the name of “unity.”
On the other side: The Extremists — who declare Muslims kāfir for mistakes, rebel against rulers, and spill blood in the name of piety.
But between both is the shining, balanced truth:
Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamāʿah
The true followers of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions.
The Khawārij were from Ahlul-Ghulū.
They:
Worshipped excessively — but without guidance.
Recited Qur’an — but it didn’t go past their throats.
Accused major Companions of kufr — and made their blood halāl.
Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with him) debated them and brought thousands of them back with the light of the Sunnah — not emotion or zeal.
Today’s Khawārij speak of “honor,” “reform,” and “corruption,” but they destroy nations, divide communities, and cause bloodshed — all while thinking they’re upon good.
But the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“They will kill the people of Islām and leave the idolaters.”
(Saḥīḥ Muslim)
Ahlus-Sunnah teaches:
Loyalty with wisdom
Enjoining good with knowledge
Patience in hardship
Mercy over harsh judgment
Correcting rulers without rebellion
Jihād under rightful leadership, not chaos
The path of the Salaf is not harshness nor softness — it is truth with mercy, and firmness with guidance.
Don't fall for either extreme.
Stay firm upon the Sunnah. Know the middle path. That is the path to Jannah.
