Ibn Taymiyyah vs Atheism — When the Heart Exposes Falsehood

Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

“Hearts are hardwired to love those who do good to them, and to hate those who do harm to them.”
— Jāmiʿ al-Masā’il 6/105

This is fitrah — the natural truth written in every human soul.

But here’s the question…

Who has done more good to you than your Creator?

The One who formed you, sustained you, guided you — and forgives you daily.

Yet some deny Him, curse Him, and mock His signs.

Atheism says:

“God didn’t create you.”

“You’re just chemicals.”

“Life is random.”

“Death is the end.”

That’s not just falsehood — that’s cruelty to the soul.

No guidance.

No purpose.

No hope.

No healing.

So when atheists wage war on belief, attack the Qur'an, and mock the Prophets —

They are not just opposing religion.

They’re doing harm to the very hearts they were born with.

And that’s why deep down, the soul resists.

The heart knows it's being wronged.

Because truth brings peace.

And falsehood always leaves you restless.

“Verily, in the remembrance of Allāh do hearts find rest.”
— Surah ar-Raʿd 13:28

So if your heart still stirs when it hears the truth — that’s mercy.

Don’t silence it.

Don’t numb it.

Let it return to the One who created it.

La ilāha illa Allāh isn’t just a phrase — it’s the healing your heart has been crying for.
