Ibn Taymiyyah vs Political Islam: A Clash of Methodologies
The Ikhwānīs shout:
“Establish the Islamic State!”
“Politics first — then we’ll fix ‘aqīdah!”
“Power will bring back Islām!”
But Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) taught the exact opposite.
He taught:
Rectification begins with correcting beliefs and worship. When the hearts are upright, society will follow.
The Ikhwānī manhaj flips the equation:
— They chase government before guidance.
— They seek seats in parliament before sujūd to the Lord of the worlds.
— They ally with Ahl al-Bidʿah — just to gain numbers.
Yet Ibn Taymiyyah warned:
Victory comes through tawḥīd, not numbers.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) didn’t start with revolts, marches, or power.
He started with “Say: Lā ilāha illa Allāh.”
That’s the Salafī method.
That’s the Prophetic path.
That’s the way of Ibn Taymiyyah.
The Ikhwānī project failed — because it was never built on the Qur’an and Sunnah.
Don’t fall for the mirage of “Political Islam.”
The only true revival is through purification before revolution, daʿwah before dominion, tawḥīd before takht (throne).
