Is Jumah Prayer Valid in Mina During Hajj?
Question to Shaykh Ibn Baaz:
What is the ruling on those who held the Jumuʿah (Friday) prayer today in one of the ḥajj groups in Minā?
Shaykh Ibn Baaz Answer:
This is an incorrect practice. They must perform the Ẓuhr prayer instead, because the Prophet Muḥammad (peace be upon him) performed Ẓuhr on the Day of Jumuʿah at ʿArafāt. He delivered a sermon to the people and then performed the Ẓuhr and ʿAṣr prayers together on Friday—he did not pray Jumuʿah. Therefore, the pilgrim is not required to perform Jumuʿah. He performs Ẓuhr in ʿArafāt or during the Days of Minā.
