Marry for Righteousness, Not Riches: A Trust in Allah's Provision
Shaykh Ibn Bāz (رحمه الله) said:
“Many people are blessed with a righteous and good suitor, but they refuse him saying, ‘He is poor, he doesn’t have sufficient income,’ and thus they prevent the marriage. Even if the girl is pleased and agrees, they reject due to ignorance or having bad thoughts about Allah, or because her mother or sister thinks badly and objects to the marriage, saying, ‘He has no savings, no job,’ and so on.
But if the dowry is manageable, then saying ‘What about the future?’ is wrong. If a person marries, Allah will make things easy for him. He should think well of his Lord, and marry as long as the dowry is manageable.
Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, will support and help him. After marriage, Allah may provide him a job or other means of provision. He will strive and earn through it.
So, the one who marries seeking chastity — Allah will provide for him and aid him.”
