The Danger of Declaring Blood Halal Without Knowledge
One of the gravest crimes the Khawārij became known for — and what earned them the title “Dogs of the Hellfire” — was their reckless judgment in declaring the blood of Muslims lawful to spill.
They saw a sinner? → Kāfir.
They saw a ruler make a mistake? → Kāfir.
They saw someone disagree with them? → Murtad.
Then they said: “His blood is halāl.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) warned:
“If a man says to his brother, ‘O disbeliever (kāfir),’ then one of them has returned with it (i.e., the accusation).”
— [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, 6104]
This is not fiqh.
This is not ghayrah.
This is pure ignorance and extremism.
They spill blood in the name of tawḥīd.
They kill Muslims while shouting “Lā ilāha illā Allāh.”
But the Prophet (peace be upon him) warned us about them specifically:
“They will kill the people of Islām and leave alone the idol worshippers.”
— [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī & Muslim]
It is harām — forbidden — to declare someone a disbeliever without proof from the Qur’an and Sunnah, understood through the way of the Salaf.
Salafiyyah protects Muslim blood.
It teaches patience, knowledge, justice, and mercy — not bombs and bullets.
Before a Muslim calls someone a kāfir, or makes their blood seem cheap, let him remember: He will stand before Allah for every word and every drop of blood.
