The Day the Moon Split — A Miracle Denied by Hearts, Not Eyes
The disbelievers of Makkah demanded a miracle.
Not words. Not claims. A visible, undeniable sign.
So the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ pointed to the moon…
And by the will of Allāh, it split in two.
Not a dream. Not a hallucination. A public, historical event.
“The people of Mecca asked Allah's Messenger ﷺ to show them a miracle.
So he showed them the moon split in two halves between which they saw the Hira’ mountain.”
— Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3868
They saw it.
They had no scientific explanation.
They didn’t deny what happened —
They just chose disbelief over surrender.
Because when hearts are diseased with arrogance,
no amount of evidence is ever enough.
Just like today…
When Muslims bring forward miracles of the Prophet ﷺ,
When we show the linguistic miracle of the Qur’ān,
When we highlight the prophecies, the preservation, the unmatched impact...
People still say:
“Coincidence.”
“Legend.”
“Story.”
— Just like Quraysh.
“If they see a sign, they turn away…”
— [Surah al-Qamar 54:2]
Open your eyes, dear reader.
This miracle wasn’t just for Quraysh.
It’s a sign for you — right now.
To awaken your soul.
To soften your heart.
To make you fall into sujūd and say:
Ashhadu an lā ilāha illa Allāh, wa ashhadu anna Muḥammadan Rasūl Allāh.
