The Further You Are From Tawheed and Sunnah — The Closer You Are to Shirk and Innovation
The path to deviation doesn’t begin with kufr.
It begins with neglecting Tawḥīd.
It begins with abandoning the Sunnah.
It begins with a small shift away from what the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions were upon.
Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:
“Anyone who is further away from Tawḥīd and the Sunnah; then he will be closer to shirk, innovation and falsity.”
(Iqtidhāʾ aṣ-Ṣirāṭ al-Mustaqīm, 2/759)
SubḥānAllāh — how precise and powerful.
One step away from Tawḥīd leads to:
— Worshipping saints
— Making duʿā to graves
— Seeking help from the dead
— Taking rivals besides Allāh
One step away from the Sunnah leads to:
— Bidʿah in ʿAqīdah
— Innovations in ʿIbādah
— Rejecting the Sahābah
— Following sect leaders over revelation
The one who leaves Salafiyyah doesn’t land in neutrality.
He lands in the arms of falsehood, no matter what uniform it wears.
So protect your heart.
Hold firm to the truth.
Cling to Tawḥīd and the Sunnah like your life depends on it — because it does.
