The Meaning of al-Jibt: Everything Harmful and Devoid of Good
Meaning of "al-Jibt" (الجِبْت):
Al-Jibt refers to anything in which there is no good — such as sorcery and the like, idols and the like.
It is a term applied to anything devoid of benefit.
It is used for idols, referred to as Jibt, and for sorcerers, also called Jibt, and for anything that harms people and has no goodness in it — it is called Jibt.
