The Rafidhah and Their Striking Resemblance to the Jews — A Legacy of Deviation
Al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Rajab al-Ḥanbalī رحمه الله — a giant among the Imāms of the Sunnah — once made a piercing observation about the sect known as the Rāfiḍah (most commonly known today as the Twelver Shīʿa but is not limited to them):
“The Rāfiḍah resemble the Jews in about 70 characteristics.”
Al-Ḥikam al-Jadīrah bil-Idhāʿah, p.44
This is not mere rhetoric. It’s a scholarly diagnosis built upon documented patterns:
Both slander Prophets or companions:
Just as the Jews slandered Prophet ʿĪsā عليه السلام and Maryam عليها السلام, the Rāfiḍah revile the Companions — including Abū Bakr, ʿUmar, and ʿĀʾishah رضي الله عنهم.
Both tamper with scripture:
The Jews altered their scriptures — the Rāfiḍah accuse the Ṣaḥābah of corrupting the Qur’ān and claim the true version (the Muṣḥaf of Fāṭimah) is hidden with their 12th Imām.
Both await a messianic savior to avenge their imagined grievances:
The Jews await a false Messiah. The Rāfiḍah await their Mahdī from the cave — who they believe will return to punish Ahl al-Sunnah.
Ya Muslim!
This isn’t about name-calling — it’s a wake-up call.
A sect that:
Curses the most beloved to the Prophet ﷺ
Accuses ʿĀʾishah of betrayal
Declares takfīr on the majority of the Ummah
Builds their creed on lies, fabrication, extremism, and contradiction
…is not Islam, no matter how loudly they claim to love the Ahl al-Bayt.
Stand firm upon the Manhaj of the Salaf, who loved and defended both the Ahl al-Bayt and the Ṣaḥābah — without excess or deficiency.
Ibn Taymiyyah said:
“The Rafidah are the most deceitful sect of the Muslim nation without exception, and they are the most extreme and polytheistic among the sects that claim to follow Islam.”
[Minhaj al-Sunnah vol. 1, pg. 58-59]
Study their beliefs. Learn their history. And protect yourself and your family from their poison — no matter how cleverly disguised.
