The Roots of Rafidism: Exposing the Founder of Hatred Against the Sahabah
Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:
“The person who innovated ar-Rafd is ʿAbdullāh ibn Sabaʾ — he is a Zindīq, Munāfiq, and Yahūdī — who wishes to corrupt the Muslims.”
Who was ʿAbdullāh ibn Sabaʾ?
— A Jew who pretended to embrace Islam
— Spread the poison of hatred against Abū Bakr, ʿUmar, and ʿUthmān
— Claimed that ʿAlī was divine
— Planted the seeds of division and rebellion that birthed both the Shīʿī and Khārijī sects
His goal? To destroy Islam from within.
And sadly, many today carry his banner while calling themselves Muslims.
Ahl al-Sunnah stand firm in defense of the Qur’ān, Sunnah, and the noble Ṣaḥābah.
The religion of the Prophet ﷺ is pure — it does not contain curses against his closest companions!
Know the roots of Rafidism, and you’ll understand why it stands opposed to the Islam of the Salaf.
