The Ruling of the Salaf on the Rafidah (Shia): A Warning from the Imams of Islam
When it comes to exposing the danger of deviant sects, no one was clearer than the early Imāms of Islām.
From Imām Mālik to Imām Ibn Taymiyyah, the verdict on the Rāfiḍah was one: They have no connection to Islām.
IMĀM MĀLIK
❝The one who reviles the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ does not have any share in Islām.❞
As-Sunnah 2/557
IMĀM ABŪ ḤANĪFAH
❝Whoever doubts the caliphate of Abū Bakr and ʿUmar is a kāfir.❞
Al-Sawāʿiq al-Muḥriqah, Page: 362–363
IMĀM SHĀFIʿĪ
❝A Rāfiḍī will have no intercession, this is only for a Muslim.❞
Al-Kafāya 1/126
IMĀM AḤMAD
❝The Rāfiḍah have nothing to do with Islām.❞
Uṣūl as-Sunnah, Page: 821
IMĀM BUKHĀRĪ
❝I don’t see any difference between praying ṣalāh behind a Rāfiḍī and a Jew.❞
Khalq Afʿāl al-ʿIbād, Page: 14
IBN TAYMIYYAH
❝They are the most evil of the people of desires and deserve to be killed more than al-Khawārij.❞
Majmūʿ al-Fatāwā 28/482
IBN KATHĪR
❝Spilling his blood is more lawful than spilling wine.❞
Al-Bidāyah wa al-Nihāyah 5/2521
IMĀM ASH-SHAʿBĪ
❝They are Jews in disguise.❞
As-Sunnah 1/497
AḤMAD BIN YŪNUS
❝We do not eat the meat of the animal slaughtered by a Rāfiḍī, because he is an apostate.❞
Sharḥ Uṣūl Iʿtiqād Ahl al-Sunnah 8/459
IMĀM IBN ʿĀBIDĪN
❝Whoever doubts their kufr is himself a kāfir.❞
ʿUqūd ad-Durriyyah Vol. 11
Dear Muslim…
The danger of Rāfiḍī beliefs — cursing the Ṣaḥābah, believing the Qur’ān is distorted, exaggerating the status of ʿAlī رضي الله عنه to divinity — is not a small matter.
This is not “just another madhhab.”
This is a sect condemned by all major scholars of Islām.
If you love the Prophet ﷺ,
If you honor the Ṣaḥābah رضي الله عنهم,
If you follow the Qur’ān and Sunnah —
Then reject the Rāfiḍah, expose their falsehood, and stay firm upon the path of the Salaf.
Because the truth of Islām does not bend to those who curse the Prophet’s family and companions.
