Warning Signs of Khawarij Traits in Modern Groups
The Khawārij didn’t disappear — they evolved.
They no longer wear desert rags and fight with swords.
Today, they may wear suits, camouflage, or even thobes and carry the Qur’an on their tongues.
But the signs the Prophet Muḥammad (peace be upon him) gave us remain timeless.
Here are warning signs of Khawārij traits in modern groups:
Quick to declare Muslims as disbelievers (Takfīr)
They label whole nations, scholars, and rulers as kuffār for sins or disagreements — with no due knowledge or fear.
Openly call for rebellion against Muslim rulers
Even if the ruler establishes prayer and upholds Islam, they ignite chaos and justify revolution in the name of “justice.”
Glorify bloodshed and violence against Muslims
They praise suicide bombers, attacks in Muslim lands, and spill the blood of the Ummah — calling it "jihād."
Despise the scholars of the Sunnah
They mock, slander, and accuse the Salafi ʿUlamā’ of being "scholars for dollars" while following unknown, unqualified voices.
Use emotional slogans to deceive the youth
“Real Islām,” “True Jihād,” “Support the oppressed” — but behind the slogans are ideologies rooted in extremism and deviation.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“They will kill the people of Islam and leave the idol worshipers.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī & Muslim]
“They are the dogs of Hell.”
[Ibn Mājah]
The Salafi Manhaj exposes them.
Knowledge protects against them.
And holding firm to the Qur’an and Sunnah with the understanding of the Salaf is the only path of safety.
Don’t fall for their passion. Measure everything by the truth.
