When the Heart Forgets Allah, It Falls in Love with Dust
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله mentioned that one of the scholars was asked about people who become madly in love with beautiful images and faces. He replied:
“[They have] hearts that have left off remembering Allāh, so Allāh put them to trial by subjecting them to other than Him [in worship].”
Miftāḥ Dār al-Saʿādah 311
Just reflect on that...
When the heart abandons dhikr, it doesn’t stay empty — it gets filled with fitnah. It starts loving the creation instead of the Creator. Loving appearances. Loving illusions. Loving things that will age, fade, die, and disappear…
Not because they’re weak. But because the heart got sick — it stopped remembering Allāh, and started worshiping looks.
The only cure?
— Lower your gaze
— Fill your heart with Qur’ān
— Cry in sujūd
— And fall back in love with Allāh — the One who never disappoints, never fades, never leaves.
The one who lives for beauty will always be broken.
But the one who lives for Allāh will always rise.
