Who Defines “Rights” in Liberalism? And What Happens When They Change?
Liberalism claims to be the champion of “human rights.”
But pause and ask:
Who decides what is a “right”?
Once, same-sex marriage was unthinkable — now it’s a “right.”
Once, gender was biological — now denying “preferred pronouns” is “violence.”
Once, abortion was rare — now killing a baby is called “bodily autonomy.”
Once, freedom of speech was sacred — now it’s censored if you quote the Qur’an.
In liberalism, “rights” aren’t anchored in truth.
They’re based on majority whims, social trends, and political pressure.
Today’s “right” becomes tomorrow’s “wrong.”
Today’s “freedom” becomes tomorrow’s “phobia.”
Today’s “tolerance” becomes tomorrow’s tyranny.
If man defines rights —
Then rights are unstable.
Then morals are man-made.
Then justice is redefined daily by whoever holds power.
But in Islam:
Rights come from the Creator, not corrupt congresses.
Morals are revealed by the All-Knowing, not flawed humans.
Justice is fixed, eternal, and rooted in Divine Wisdom.
Allah said:
“Is it the judgment of ignorance they seek? But who is better than Allah in judgment for a people who are certain?”
— Surah al-Mā’idah, 5:50
You can’t build justice on shifting sands.
Only Allah’s Sharīʿah provides the foundation for real rights —
Rights that protect life, family, honor, dignity, and society.
Liberalism builds castles on sand —
Islam builds justice on revelation.
So ask yourself:
Who do you trust more?
A politician funded by lobbies?
Or the Lord of the Worlds?
