Yasir Qadhi Criticizing Salafiyyah… Is Like a Blind Man Mocking Light
How ironic — and how revealing.
A man who doesn’t follow Salafiyyah, who openly opposes its scholars, and who distorts its principles — feels entitled to define it, critique it, and warn against it?
That’s not sincere criticism.
That’s misrepresentation rooted in opposition — not knowledge.
That’s like an atheist criticizing Tawḥīd.
Yasir Qadhi constantly:
Distorts what Salafiyyah is
Links it to extremism or rigidity
Praises Sufis and Ashʿarīs while attacking Salafis
Slanders the scholars of Sunnah like Shaykh Rabeeʿ, Shaykh al-Albānī, and others
Tries to redefine Salafiyyah to suit his modernist, pluralist project
But here’s the truth:
He doesn’t hate Salafiyyah because he understands it.
He hates it because it exposes him — his contradictions, his double-speak, his allegiance to falsehood.
If Yasir Qadhi truly knew Salafiyyah, he wouldn’t spend his life running from it.
If he had an ounce of honesty, he’d admit his issue isn’t with “labels” — it’s with the truth they represent.
Salafiyyah is:
Pure Tawḥīd
Clear Sunnah
Firm Manhaj
Zero compromise with shirk, bidʿah, or deviance
So no — we don’t need a critic of the Salaf to teach us about their path.
We need to warn against him, just like the Salaf warned against the people of desires.
