The Noble Home of the Muslim Woman — Her Shield of Honor
Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān حفظه الله said:
"So however much a woman is able to stay at home, this is more protective of her. Allāh addressed His Prophet's wives – who are our role models – saying:
'And remain in your homes:'
[Surah al-Aḥzāb: 33]"
Four Essays on the Obligation of Veiling, from the Treatise titled: “Advice to the Muslim Woman”, p. 69
The more a woman remains in her home, the safer she will be — in her religion, in her modesty, and in her honour.
This is not about restriction — it is about elevation. The home of the Muslim woman is not a prison — it is a fortress of dignity, a place of worship, knowledge, and stability. It is the space where she nurtures generations, protects her modesty, and draws closer to her Lord.
Sadly, today, many see “being outside” as liberation. But the Qur’an teaches us that the best of women were told by Allāh Himself:
"And remain in your homes…"
Because Allāh knows what protects — not human ideologies or fleeting trends.
This verse was revealed to the Mothers of the Believers, who had the highest status — and they obeyed it without hesitation. So what about the rest of the women?
True dignity is not in public applause — it is in hidden sincerity, unseen worship, and quiet obedience to Allāh.
May Allāh grant our sisters strength, wisdom, and contentment with what He loves for them.
