The Most Beautiful Deeds Are the Ones No One Sees...
Az-Zubayr ibn al-‘Awwām (may Allāh be pleased with him) — one of the ten promised Paradise — once said:
“Whosoever is able to have a hidden good deed (between him and Allāh), then let him do so!”
Musnad ibn al-Ja’d, 113. Az-Zuhd li Abī Dāwūd, 119.
SubḥānAllāh… In a world obsessed with likes, shares, and recognition, the Salaf would hide their good deeds like we hide our sins.
They feared that even a single glance of praise from people would steal their reward from Allāh.
They knew:
A hidden tear.
A secret duʿāʾ.
A night prayer no one hears but Allāh.
A donation known to no one but Him.
These are the most sincere, the most pure, and the most beloved deeds to the Lord of the Worlds.
Be honest — how many of our “good deeds” are truly for Him? Or are they just polished and performed for people?
Remember: your īmān grows not by what the world sees — but by what you keep between you and Allāh alone.
Start today: plant a hidden deed. Water it with sincerity. And don’t tell a single soul.
May Allāh grant us the tawfīq to love the secret moments with Him more than the spotlight of the world.
