Why the Salaf Never Used Political Parties for Reform

In an age of parties, protests, and politics — everyone claims to have the solution to the ummah’s problems.

But here’s the question no one wants to ask:

Did the Salaf — the best of this Ummah — ever form political parties to bring reform?

The answer is no.

They didn’t organize under banners.

They didn’t chase elections.

They didn’t form blocs to gain popularity or influence.

They called to tawḥīd, upheld the Sunnah, and remained firm upon obedience to the ruler — even in times of corruption and oppression.

The foundation of the religion is following, not innovating. And the means must be in line with the ends.

The Ikhwān flipped this.

They said: Unite on politics — we'll fix ‘aqīdah later.

So they compromised the truth, allied with innovators, and split the Ummah further.

Their results?

— Chaos in the name of revival.

— Division in the name of unity.

— Bloodshed in the name of reform.

You cannot revive Islam with methods foreign to Islam.

The Salafi da‘wah remains partyless — because it’s timeless.

It reforms by calling hearts to Allah, not by chasing seats in parliament.

So choose:

The path of the Salaf, or the path of politics. Why the Salaf Never Used Political Parties for Reform
