All Sects Use Quran and Hadith—But Misinterpret It

Don't be deceived by a speaker quoting Qur’an or ḥadīth.
Even the most deviant sects do that.
Even the most astray groups do that.
The Khawārij used Qur’an — and made takfīr on the Sahābah.
The Rawāfiḍ used ḥadīth — and cursed the Mothers of the Believers.
The Qadariyyah used verses — and denied Qadar.
The Ashʿarīs used āyāt — and twisted Allah’s Names and Attributes.
The Ikhwān use Sunnah — and abandon the Minhāj of the Salaf.
Even Iblīs used logic with Allah — and was cursed forever.
Yes — they all quote Qur’an.
Yes — they all say “Sunnah.”
But they strip the words from their meanings. They cut the texts from their context.
They abandon the understanding of the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions.
But truth is not just quoting Qur’an.
Truth is understanding Qur’an the way the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions did.
Imām al-Awzāʿī (d. 157H) said:
“Hold fast to the narrations of the Salaf, even if people reject you. And beware of the opinions of men, no matter how much they beautify it with words.”
[Related by al-Khatīb al-Baghdadī in his excellent book Sharafu Asḥābul-Hadīth (p.7)]
Qur’an and Sunnah alone are not enough — unless you add:
...upon the understanding of the Salaf al-Ṣāliḥīn.
That’s what Salafiyyah is: the true, original, pure Islam.
Don’t fall for flowery speeches, academic quotes, or emotional talks.
Ask yourself:
Are they quoting Qur’an like the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions did?
Or are they twisting it to fit their desires, their party, or their agenda?
