Cursing Your Wife Is Not Just Harsh — It’s a Major Sin

Shaykh Ibn Bāz رحمه الله said:

❝Cursing your wife is an evil thing and a major sin.❞

And the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

❝Cursing a Muslim is like killing him.❞

Al-Fatāwā [3/21]

SubḥānAllāh… how many men raise their voices, curse in anger, and humiliate their wives — then go back to sleep as if it meant nothing?

This isn’t just bad manners. It’s a sin that could destroy your scales on Yawm al-Qiyāmah.

Your wife isn’t your servant. She isn’t your outlet for rage. She’s your sister in Islam. Your garment. Your responsibility.

And the Prophet (peace be upon him) — the greatest husband — never cursed his wives. Never insulted them. Never broke their hearts with words.

Ask yourself:

— If you saw someone cursing your sister, would you stay silent?

— Then how can you curse the woman who shares your life, your home, and your children?

Marriage is a test. Your tongue is a tool. Use it to heal, not to harm. Use it to praise, not to poison.

The most respected men are not the loudest — they are the gentlest.
