Never Forget the First Woman Who Loved You

Never Forget the First Woman Who Loved You

The first woman who carried you, nurtured you, and prayed for you — before anyone else — was your mother.

Before your wife entered your life, she was the one who stayed up nights for you, who made duʿāʾ for you, who sacrificed endlessly for your success.

Sadly, many today forget their mothers once they marry.

They shower love on their wives — as they should — but neglect the mother who built their foundation.

The Prophet ﷺ said when asked, "Who has the most right to my good companionship?"

He ﷺ replied: "Your mother."

Then who? "Your mother."

Then who? "Your mother."

Then who? "Your father."

(Saḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5971, Saḥīḥ Muslim 2548)

Your wife is a blessing.

Your mother is a command from Allah.

Balance your duties, but never allow anyone — no matter who — to cause you to forget your duty of love, respect, and service to the woman who first loved you before you even knew how to love.

May Allah bless our mothers and allow us to be a source of happiness for them.
