Why Did Khidr Kill the Boy? A Story Most Ignore...
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Indeed, the boy whom al-Khaḍir killed was inclined towards disbelief. And if he had lived, he would have oppressed his parents through rebellion and disbelief.”
— Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2661
SubḥānAllāh… how many people read the story of al-Khaḍir and Mūsā عليهما السلام, but never reflect on this deep lesson?
Sometimes what looks like a tragedy is actually a mercy.
Sometimes what seems unjust is actually perfect justice from the All-Knowing.
This boy looked innocent. But Allāh, who knows the future, knew that if he lived:
— He would rebel against his righteous parents
— He would harm them
— He would become a disbeliever
So what did Allāh do? He took him away before the damage could be done.
How often do we question Allāh’s plans?
Why this hardship?
Why this loss?
Why this death?
But this ḥadīth teaches: Allāh removes evil before it happens.
You don’t see it… but He sees everything.
Maybe that heartbreak saved your īmān.
Maybe that rejection protected your dīn.
Maybe that death was mercy for the deceased — and for you.
Don’t judge events by what you see.
Judge them by what Allāh knows.
And trust: He never wrongs anyone.
